ICA Results - Feb. 2nd, 2008 - Business Meeting:

We held our 2008 business meeting on Feb. 2nd, 2008 at Gander Mountain in Terrre Haute, Indiana
A big 'Thanks" to them for hosting our meeting. We had only 9 people in attendance of which 7 were voting members. Everyone browsed the store a bit and then we began.

We started right in with a list of proposed changes for 2008. The first item discussed was to lower the tournament entry fee to $60. arguments were heard from all and it was voted to change the entry fee to $60 per boat. We hope this will help increase both the ICA membership and participation at our tournaments by lessening the financial burden of expenses to make it to the tournaments. We realize gas prices are expected to be at $4 a gallon by June, 2008

The next rule discussed dealt with disqualifications. It was decided that if a member committed a rule infraction (such as late to weigh in) that did not require expulsion, then they would be eligible for 50 show up points only. So if you are disqualified the max points you will recieve is 50 points. This means that you get credit for paying and being at the tournament. That was all that was discussed for proposed rule changes.

We then moved on to the ICA points system. It was discussed and passed that a 25 point bonus will be awarded to any member who fishes or pays to fish all 8 ICA points division tournaments. These points will be awarded after the last points tournament of the season. Aslo, the substitution rule was changed so that only non ICA members have to pay the $10 substitute member fee.

The last item on the agenda was to fill vacant officer positions. Ron Streeter has stepped down from the VP position and James Halcomb was voted to replace him. Danny Camdens' Tournament Director position was filled by George LeMaster. We want to thank both the outgoing and incoming officers for their dedication to the ICA....
