A big thanks to for making this tournament possible...
What an excellent turn out for our 2nd annual Turtle Creek Open. Congratulations to the First Place team of Edsel and Albert Lewis. This father and son team took top honors with a 10 fish limit of channel cats weighing in at at 19.3 pounds.
Let me start by thanking Hoosier Energy for all they do for this tournament. They not only put up the prize money, but they also had a wonderful tent set up for us for weigh in and the radio and print advertising really paid off. The donughts and coffee are very much appreciated too. A big "Thank You" to Kriss Miller for all of his efforts on the ground for us. He ensured that we were well taken care of. The guards also did a great job getting the boats directed to launch and their vehicles parked. We at the ICA, look forward to a continuing partnership.
A big thanks goes out to all of our sponsors who contributed to this extraordinary event. We had a lot to give away. King's Bait and Tackle, JES and Sons, Catfish Nation, Tackle Service Center and Channel Catfish Catchers all donated product to give away. The best way to thank them for their contribution is to supprt their establishments. Be sure to mention the ICA when you thankto them....
I would next like to thank all of the ICA Officers and a few memebrs for all of their help. Jon Land was instrumental in setting this up for us and played a big part in its' success. Paul Meyer handled the checkin and did a great job. James Halcomb and Rick Floyd had inspection duty at the gate and really did an awesome job keeping things moving. Danny Camden, Evan James and Chuck Breedlove also did the ICA proud by pitching in where need. I would also like to thank Scott Wiseman for running the 50/50 pot for us. It netted the ICA $218 dollars toward our dinner fund. I would also like to thank Jarryd Mitchell for taking pictures at weigh-in for us. Thank you all for your efforts and hard work. It really is appreciated.
And now for some tourny info. We had a whopping 130 boats enter this tournament. To my knowledge, this makes it the largest catfish tournament held in Indiana. Out of the 130 boats, 70 boats weighed a total of 543 channel catfish for 667.4 pounds. The remaing 60 boats either did not weigh thier fish, had no fish, left early or were disqualified.
And a big thanks goeas out to all that participated. Without you we could not have made this such a big success as it was. Everyone was kind and courteous both on shore and on the water. Thank You.. Thank You.. Thank You..
