Offiicial Results - Dec. 3rd, 2011 ICA Business Meeting:
The ICA held its' annual business meeting at Ryans Steak House. We had 11 voting members present and 11 members that voted online beforehand. There were 3 officers present to conduct the meeting, Casey Tutorow, Rick Floyd and Mike Mitchell. We grabbed a bite to eat then began the meeting.
Casey called the meeting to order at 1:08 pm. He welcomed everyone, introduced officers and read the 2011 stats. In 2011, the ICA weighed 385 catfish for a total of 2390.3 pounds. That's an average of 6.21 lbs. per fish and we averaged 14.25 boats per tournament. He the turned the floor over to Mike Mitchell for the finance report and web report.
Mike began with reading and passing out the quarterly finance reports and current check register for the ICA. we currently have $1700.51 in our account. We talked about buying a camera for the ICA as well. He then talked about the web. Facebook has 93 followers and we have 267 people in our email list. The Forum has been a big success as well.
The floor was then turned over to Casey to cover proposed changes. He covered the changes proposed for online voting. Here are the results:
1. The ICA catfish weigh in limit should be: 1 vote for 4 catfish - 4 votes for 5 catfish and 16 votes for 6 catfish
2. ICA tournament hours should be: 7 votes for 8 hours and 15 votes for 10 hours.
3. I would like the ICA tournaments to be: 6 votes for all daytime and 15 votes for day and night.
4. Add open tournaments: 20 votes for yes and 2 votes for no.
5. The use of stringers: 5 votes for should be allowed and 17 for should not be allowed.
6. ICA Classic: 15 votes for always on the Ohio, 2 votes to alternate and 5 votes for blind draw.
Casey then opened the floor for any other proposed changes. It was proposed to leave the entry fee at $60 and make the big fish pot an optional $10 to increase the payout. This was rejected. The entry fee will remain as is. The next proposal to allow the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers at our points tournaments to automatically qualify for the classic in addition to fishing 6 of 8 points tournaments. After much discussion and debate, it was determined to leave it as it currently is. The next proposal was to make only night tournaments 12 hours long. This was approved 7 votes to 4 votes. Lastly the discussion turned to boats that get stranded during the tournament. If you see a boat in distress, you must render assistance. If you are late to weigh in during this process, the boat rendering assistance will not be DQ'ed but the towed boat will. By not rendering assistance, you will be DQ'ed for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Casey gave the floor to Rick to cover the proposed 2012 schedule. The tournament scheduled for Clinton on the wabash was changed to Terre Haute due to water levels at Clinton. The schedule was approved. Adding open tournaments was discussed and Jon Land offered to coordinate the opens and try for sponsorship. We will have an open on Geist, the Ohio River and on White River. The dates to be confirmed later.
Casey then took the floor to cover ICA officer elections. All officers were running unopposed and were voted into office. Scott Wiseman will lead the ICA as President. Rick Floyd will be the new Vice-President. Richard Nungester will be the new Tournament Director and Mike Mitchell will remain as Treasurer/Secretary. Casey Adjourned the meeting at 3:02 pm.
Overall there were very minor changes to the rules. "The use of stringers will not be allowed" is the only change/addition. There were no changes to the point system or to the Costitution and By-Laws. Daytime tournaments will be 10 hours from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm and night tournaments will be 12 hours from 7:30 pm - 7:30 am.
The ICA would like to thank all of the members who participated in both the online voting and those that went to the meeting. We would also like to thank the outgoing officers for all of thier time and dedication to the ICA. Thanks Everyone...
